Marbles – Lost and Found

We are really pleased to be able to showcase another wonderful person who has taken matters into their own hands to make a positive difference in our community. Let us Introduce Nicky Nurrish!

Nicky is the founder and director at Marbles Lost and Found, a Community Interest Company CIC Registered in 2019.

Nicky was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder and felt let down by the services that were available to support her. Bi-Polar Disorder is a term used to describe a mental health problem which affects a person’s mood in making them feel very positive or very negative.

Channeling her disappointment, Nicky began to build Marbles Lost and Found as website and community organisation which changes the way that people think about mental health conditions, remove stigma and offer support to those who need it for themselves, or for anyone in their life who may be experiencing mental health challenges.

Nicky told us that in her experience, there is still a stigma around mental health discussions and some of the support on offer might not match every individual person’s needs. Choice and awareness can be limited and Nicky wants the service to be accessible to anyone touched by mental health challenges, and aims to provide awareness, education and support to improve well-being in a way that fits around them.

The provision is always working in partnership or collaborating with others to create more opportunities to improve the offer for people experiencing mental health challenges and share the good things that other businesses or services are doing in our community to help with a range of difficulties.

Nicky is available for talks and wellbeing workshops for anyone wanting to learn more about mental health support, awareness and wellbeing and has also been able to bring in a therapy dog called Aurora and start a community group which provides a safe space to talk, have fun, meet Aurora and have a cuppa with people who may be feeling similarly challenged by their mental health.

The Community Group Sessions run Monthly Every 2nd Tuesday 2pm to 4pm at the Moments Cafe and you can book your space by contacting Nicky on Enquiries@marbleslostandfound.co.uk
